On Friday, Piper will be three weeks old! I can not believe she is growing so fast. What are we going to do? I don't want her to grow up. She can just stay my little baby forever! I really don't mind the night time feedings as long as she stays little!
We went for her two week check up yesterday. She has gained weight. Yippie! She is now 7lbs and 2 ounces. She has also grown two inches to 20 and 1/2 inches. The doctor says she is doing great.
Here are a few pictures from the past week.
Piper seems to have developed my sleeping habits. Never stay in one place!
She also likes to sleep with her arms in the air.
She does a lot of sleeping these days. Although, she is starting to stay awake for longer periods of time.
Jessica came to visit us last week. Piper really enjoyed her visiting!

Home Alone!
Piper and I have spent the past two days at home alone, since David had to start back to work yesterday. We really miss him while he is gone. However, Piper and I are having lots of girl time and enjoying being home together. She is such a sweet baby.

First Day Out!
We took Piper on our first adventure out today! She did great and slept the whole time we were out. I had my staples removed today. (No more zipper!) The doctor says that my incision looks great and I am healing really well.
We then had to take Piper to her appointment. She has gained four more ounces back. In a couple of days, she should be back to her birth weight. Her jaundice has gone down from a 10 something to a 6 something. So, she is doing really well. We have to take her back again on Friday to get her weight checked again. However, they say we are doing really well and to keep up the good work.

We Made it Home!
We were able to come home today! It was a whirl wind at the hospital today. Every time I tried to get up and take a bath so that we could come home, someone came in, called, or it was time to feed and change Piper. We probably could have left a little earlier if I had not been so determined to get a bath!
It was all worth it though to be at home with our baby. She is doing so great! We have to take her for a check up on Wednesday to check her weight, and I should also be able to get my staples out. Yippie! I feel like I have a zipper on my stomach. I can't wait till they are gone.
It still all feels so surreal. We have a baby now. Our lives are all completely different. I can't wait to see what all this new life brings and to see what God has in store for our little baby girl!

Welcome Piper Leigh Wilkerson
Piper is here, and we are so excited. She already has David wrapped around her finger. We are both just in love!
My water broke yesterday morning, and we headed to the hospital. I was in labor most of the day. However, every time I had a contraction, her heart rate would slow down. The doctor decided that it was in Piper's best interest to go ahead and do a C-Section. I'm glad we went ahead and did the C-Section because her cord ended up being wrapped around her neck.
Piper was born at 5:12 p.m on July 2, 2010. She weighted 6 pounds and 8 ounces, and she is 18 and 1/2 inches long. She is perfect!
